Spring has sprung, meaning it’s time to muddle about by the wardrobe trying to decide whether to wear a coat or not, or to wear a hoodie or not. Is it going to be one of the weirdly hottest days of the year or rather a freezing cold day? Regardless, a bunch of things had transpired within March.
The first few days of March were alright, just coming down from a high after travelling to Madrid for a couple of days. (I know I promised that I’d write about it, but worry not, it’s coming soon!) Although it was during the last days of February, the weather was surprisingly mild. I was able to wear rompers, dresses and shorts. I also bought other cool stuff like a new pair of cowboy boots and platformed high-cut Converse! Tried amazing foods, learnt new histories, and saw amazing views. It’s an adventure one should experience in their lifetime! (You can also watch the vlog here.)

The first weekend of the month was probably the highlight reel of March as I managed to get into my first-ever open-call audition for a Hip-Hop crew on the Royal Caribbean cruise. It was held in ExCel, in one of the most BIGGEST dance events in London, which was Move It.
Yes, I was nervous. My initial plan was to actually back out, but after just a few hours of reflection, and talking to my dad, my mum, and my boyfriend. I had come to the conclusion that this is a “once in a lifetime” thing and that I have nothing else to lose if I go. In fact, I would gain something and that is a beautiful and wonderful experience. And it was.
I remember getting on the train with my boyfriend by my side, running through choreos and moves in my head that I could possibly use. I was 100% freaking out, on the brink of crashing out. But I kept my cool and just went on with it. When I got to the venue, everything somehow slowed down. It didn’t feel real. It was massive, there were lights everywhere, booming bass over the speakers. There were multiple stages, and a crowd of aspiring dancers like me. It was so much fun. Although I might have blocked most of the memory out, I could never forget the choreo that was taught to us and how I felt: ecstasy.
It was so weird because after I got cut. I turned to my boyfriend and enthusiastically said, “I want to audition again.” (Yoohoo, I’ve vlogged it here, too.)

The rest of the month was filled with me, sitting in front of my laptop, going through job rejection emails. On that note, I did have a lovely experience when I was invited to attend an assessment day for a job I applied for. I met interesting people from different backgrounds, and my limits, my confidence, and my knowledge were tested. It was daunting, but it was also a fun learning experience. A few weeks later, I was informed that, unfortunately, I didn’t make it. And it’s okay! It’s a sign that it wasn’t for me, and there will be something out there waiting for me, and I will continue to chase it.
So, I’ve kept myself busy with my writing, and building my presence in social media. Working on my skills as I manage a business that I co-founded with my mother, as well as helping out other people with their businesses in terms of video editing and building their own online presence as well.
I’ve kept myself busy with going to the gym too! It’s a part of my routine that helps relieve stress (as well as dancing!). Therefore, I have this sort of balance in my regimen that keeps me grounded and on my feet, and not like… losing my mind every second of every day. (Genuinely, I think I would not be mentally okay if I didn’t go to the gym).

This month was also the month where I had longer stays and nights over at my boyfriend’s (and vice versa). It’s better and cosier, and definitely affordable than a day out in a rather expensive city called London. (Just kidding, but also, God bless this economy! It’s hard out here!)
And on Mother’s Day, I made homemade sangria for the family while we feasted on some roasted pork and some salad. Winding down together as a family, and watching the last few episodes of the Vikings. I also found some interesting books I wanted to read when I was browsing around Waterstones that one time, and there were some that caught my eye:
Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst
If you have read these books, let me know what you thought of it in the comments! (No spoilers, please!)
And that concludes my March! I’m sure there were little bits that I have left out, but overall, it was a wonderful month and I’m looking forward to what April brings me! (Hopefully, a job! LOL!)
